A day with the kids

Sharing some photographs of today’s adventure with my two boys!

Noah (my current 4 year old) came running toward me with excitement when I picked him up from daycare today.Over the past week, me and his father have observed that he repeatedly received red marks as a summary of how his day went at preschool. He started preschool last week and this is his first time being in a school setting. I knew that it would be a little difficult for him to adjust because he is very active and his mind constantly roams.

His dad and I sat him down yesterday and tried to calmly explain to him that he is now in a new environment. We explained to him that he will need to listen to his teachers because the teachers pretty much left notes stating that he wasn’t following directions and that he was too active and very talkative. Long story short — I took away his PS3, relinquished his rights to eating gummies, and eliminated his Netflix TV time. In place, I have added more outside play as well as more time to catch up on our reading for him and his baby brother.

When I picked the boys up today, Noah scurried into my arms, eyes big — filled with excitement screaming I GOT RED TODAY Mom! I was a bit confused because he was super excited to have received red, which is the worst color you could have gotten for the day. After pulling out his log I then read that he received purple, which is the best color and it means that he had an excellent day! He must have gotten his words mixed up but all in all, we went to the park today to celebrate! Here are a few photographs from our day!

We even saw a family of deer as we were leaving on the way back home!
